What is kept about you

Your email address, and a name if you gave one. The language and time zone you picked. The channels you follow and the schedule you set. The briefings made for you. If you pay, a customer reference from Stripe. That is the lot.

Page visits are also counted, so it is possible to tell which screens get used. That runs on the same server as the rest of Peak News, sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device, and records the page, the link you arrived from, your browser's language and your screen size. Not who you are, and it is never joined to your account.

What is not kept

No password — there isn't one. No card details: Stripe handles payment and the numbers never reach Peak News. No Telegram login. No advertising trackers, no profiling, nothing that follows you to other sites.

The Telegram side of it

Peak News reads the public pages of the channels you follow and stores the messages so it can group and summarise them. Those messages were written by other people and can mention anyone.

Only public channels are read — nothing private, no login, and requests are spaced out so the load on a channel stays small. Anyone who turns up in a stored message can ask for it to go.

Briefings are written by an AI

To make a briefing, the collected messages are sent to Anthropic, which sends back the grouped summary. Under Anthropic's business terms that text is not used to train its models. Nothing about you travels with it — not your email, not your name, not payment details.

Who else sees any of it

Three companies, each doing one job: Anthropic writes the briefings, Stripe takes the payments, and a hosting provider runs the servers. Nothing is sold, and nothing is handed over for anyone's advertising.

Typefaces and icons are served from this site rather than from a font or icon host, so displaying a page tells neither anything about you.

How long it is kept

Account and briefings: as long as your account exists, and gone within 30 days of closing it. Collected Telegram messages: 90 days. Server logs and page-view records: 30 days. Invoices: seven years, because Dutch tax law says so.

What you can ask for

A copy of everything held about you. Corrections. Deletion. A portable export. You can also object to the Telegram collection described in section 04.

Write to info@peaknews.io and you get an answer within a month. If that does not settle it, the Dutch data protection authority takes complaints, and so does the one in the country you live in.

Cookies

One, called SESSION, which keeps you signed in for 7 days. Nothing else — no analytics, no advertising. That is why there is no cookie banner to click away.

Keeping it safe

Everything runs over HTTPS. There is no password to steal — signing in is a one-time link, good for 15 minutes and usable once. Card details never touch the service. No system is perfectly safe, though; if you find a hole, report it and it will be fixed, not litigated.
